When browsing for sex toy products online or in a store, it’s common to see the same thing over and over again. Vibrators in every color, shape, and size. Lotions for this, lotions for that. Videos and books that all teach the same basic stuff.

A few years ago, however, I found a product that immediately caught my attention due to its complete difference from anything I’d seen previously, and its obvious usefulness in spicing up marital sex. And when my husband and I had some extra cash, at the top of my purchase list was the wedge and ramp combination from The Liberator product line. (Warning: The Liberator site is for adults only, due to the nature of the products they sell. The site does have suggestive pictures but is not pornographic, and you probably don’t want your kids or your boss looking over your shoulder while you’re perusing the site.)

What are the Liberator wedge and the ramp? In short, the company bills them as “sex furniture.” There are a number of different shapes available, which are all made of soft yet firm foam and covered in microfiber material. This “sex furniture” essentially allows you to comfortably position your two bodies in new and interesting ways, thus adding sexual variety and potentially increasing sexual responsiveness. (Think G-spot stimulation.)

My husband and I ended up purchasing not only the wedge and ramp combo, but also the stage and the cube. For the money, in my opinion, the wedge and ramp together are the best buy (you get 20% off when you buy those two pieces together), and really are the essentials when it comes to “sex furniture,” because using just them you can create a huge variety of positions and angles. The stage is really good for comfortable (and leveraged!) female-on-top sex, especially if you have a bed that is too soft and a floor that is too hard, as we do. The cube we haven’t used as much, and its applications seem a little more limited to me, because it does take some perching-on to use…and perching, for me, just isn’t the best thing during sex. (Your mileage may vary, of course.)

An additional thing that I really appreciate about the Liberator sex furniture is that many of the pieces come in varying sizes to accomodate different bodies; for example, people who are short, or tall, or people who are overweight. If you click through on the “buy” button on any of the products, you will see the size options that apply to that particular piece.

Also, apparently, the Liberator products are supposed to be very good for people with back problems whose pain prevents them from really enjoying sex. And I can see why; the pieces are all very firmly supportive and allow for re-arranging until you find just the right position. Neither my husband nor I has back problems, so I can’t speak from experience on this; however I do feel that most positions in general are more comfortable for us while using the “sex furniture.”

The Liberator pieces each come with a “gig bag” that has handles, so conceivably taking them on vacation or anywhere else would be very convenient. They store nicely; kind of like stacking up building blocks in your closet. We have all four of our plus-size pieces stored in one half of a fairly small closet. Some of the pieces could fit under a bed, too, depending on the clearance under the bed. As to cleanup, the very soft microfiber covers come off for washing.

As to customer service, shipping, and the like, I don’t recall there being any issues at all with the company; everything went smoothly. (This was a couple of years ago, so my memory is fuzzy!) I do know that I would absolutely purchase from them again, with no hesitation…and in fact they have some new products since we last purchased that I’m thinking about checking out.

In all, I highly recommend the Liberator products. We’ve spent many a fun hour using them, and they’ve definitely inspired us to be more creative and adventurous!
